ABOUT US
Background
Lady Mart Foundation is named after the late Mrs. Martha Owusu who was a widow
for 45 years of her life and dedicated herself to the welfare of the needy in society especially widows. In her widowhood years, she made sure other widows like herself
felt a sense of belonging and love by sharing whatever she had.
Mission
"The Lady Mart foundation aims to empower and improve the lives of the disadvantaged in society especially widows by providing them with access to education and skills training, promoting good sanitation practices, and ensuring quality healthcare. Through our work, we seek to foster gender equality and to create a world where everybody can lead a dignified and fulfilling life."
Vision
"We envision a world where everyone has the opportunity to achieve economic independence, access to quality healthcare, and the ability to live in a safe and healthy environment. Our foundation strives to be a leading advocate for the rights of the disadvantaged , especially widows, and a catalyst for positive change in the communities we serve."
Entrepreneurship
We provide entrepreneurship training and support for women to start or grow their own businesses. We provide training, mentoring, and access to resources to help the disadvantaged become self-sufficient and financially independent.
Health and wellness
Several people face health challenges related to stress, grief, and aging. We provide periodic health screenings in the communities we serve to help the disadvantaged maintain their physical and emotional well-being. We also provide advocacy through our partnership with Denkyiraman Radio 91.9fm, for social support for widows and create community events to help widows build relationships and feel a sense of belonging.
